Biblical TimesMan, I wanted to finish my chapter today. My newest novel previously started, had the first 20 pages written and I considered that unfinished and decided to finish it. Hell, it's barely started. Anyhow, i have the chapter almost done, the remaining all in my head, and dthen rama happened tonight to halt me. Priority will be to finish that chapter tomorrow and start another. What was the drama? every year we do team Jackie versus . . . well, another DJ's team of karaoke singers. Both teams compete different nights. You start with 20 on each team and eliminate down to 10, those 10 go head to head. Tonight my opposition had his final night to determine who his final ten would be. Unlike me (My ten were determined weeks ago) he had a two way tie for the tenth position. Actually, that's wrong. Number 10 was fifty points ahead of number 11. If during thursdays weekly competition number 11 scored higher then she would bump out number ten.. For the sake of the story let's call 10 - Jeff, and 11 - sue. Sue is hands down a tremendous singer, the best around. But she hasn't been dedicated to the weekly contest,other obligations. Jeff, well, he's not that good. he's there every week though. hence why the tie. All determined by audience votes. well, jeff brought a ton of people with him. (The audience has to vote for more than one person) At the end, my opposition DJ, we'll call him Ike, counted the votes. Sue beat out Jeff, sending Jeff home. I had to fill in for Ike, halfway through the night. Ike left. jeff and his friends called foul. there was no way he only had 17 votes when he brought 12 people. Ok, I asked him to wait until after the show, and I'd recount the votes, after all, they were still sitting there. When Ike announced the winners, jeff had 17 and Sue had 21 votes. We recounted. Jeff had 20 and sue had 18. we recounted several times. Not like it was thousands. But it remained. jeff beat Sue. Which means, if sue goes, Ike loses potentially the best singer on his team, his hope to win. I presented it to Ike as if it were a clerical, honest mistake, and he said he didn't believe it. He got defensive. Said it was convenient that he wasn't there for the recount. I told him do what he had to do, what his conscience tells him to do, I won't protest. Clearly if i had it in me to cheat, I'd let Sue win too. She increases his chances of beating my team. Jeff decreases them. at this point in time, Ike doesn't know what he's going. my guess, he's gonna let sue keep the win. Anyhow, question to any of you who know the bible. Genesis 9:20. tells about Noah getting drunk and passing out naked on his bed. His son Ham, saw him and called for his two brothers, those two brothers covered Noah. When Noah awoke he was pissed off at ham and cursed him and his son Canaan. My question is, why was Noah pissed? Because Ham didn't do anything or because Ham told the brothers Noah was naked. I'm confused. Noah was the one that got pissed drunk and passed out naked, how is it Ham's fault. |
